In March 2025 two of our Woppaburra women rangers Debra Witteman and Tshinta Barney travelled to Cairns for QIWRN (Queensland Indigenous Women Ranger Network) in which over 200 women from every state, territory and the Torres Strait islands came together for a week of networking, support and to recognise the vital contribution of Indigenous women rangers to country, community and culture. There were many talks and presentations about what other ranger groups have done from the positive to the negative, that got all the women talking and laughing including one that got us to line up in order of service from day 2 rangers to an inspiring 37 years.
