My name is Della Gibson (née Stanley. My family connection is through my father Luke Stanley Snr. son of Jessie Stanley (née Keppel). Jesse Keppel was taken from our homeland in 1902 and transferred to Yarrabah. This is where our family line grew up.
My brother Fred Stanley asked for me to step up this was a decision agreed from the family it and so it was a change over. I am happy to carry the family representative role.
The most important thing for me is to develop our youth so that they can engage with the many programs on offer through our TUMRA and with various partners such as GBRMPA, QPWS and AIMS. I’m passionate about our younger generation being more involved and having opportunities to be on country. I enjoy planning, developing and managing our projects from inception through to completion.
